I LOVE THIS! In fact, I think I need a whole basket full of primitive pyn pillows :) Thank you
Tanya for this fun little pattern :)
At Plimoth freebie by
The Sampler Girl
fabric: 32ct linen, coffee dyed and baked
fibers: DMC (my own selection)

A close up because I'm so happy with the way the fabric turned out :)

And here's the backing fabric...I think the design is perfect for the front, don't you? I also coffee dyed and baked it too.

A close up of the ships...too perfect
(in my humble opinion, lol!)
I'm really loving these quick little projects, they're so fun! In fact, I need to go find another one, lol! Have a great weekend everyone!!!
That really turned out great in your hands. You have such a good eye for matching fabrics to stitching.
ReplyDeleteStaci,
ReplyDeleteYour work is great as usual. You are right about that fabric being perfect. I love all the ornaments you've been doing.
Your scissors are all lovely and it's great to see them in your pictures. I'd love to see a picture of your entire collection.
I really like your finish Staci. Everything about it is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLovely finish! The backing fabric is so perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteThat is really pretty, the fabric does match perfectly. I wondered how you do the coffee dying and baking. I would love to try it.

OK where do I send my fabric to be baked with coffee? It's sooo nice, puts my bright cashel belfast linen to shame! Now I want to restitch it with what you did...but no idea how to go about it...wahhhhh!
ReplyDeleteLove your ornaments. You are so talented!
Petra
You're right, Staci, they are perfect! The front and the back go together so well. Very pretty!
ReplyDelete(shhh ... yours is my favorite "finished" version of this sweet design)
ReplyDeleteGreat finish and the backing fabric is perfect !
ReplyDeleteStaci,
ReplyDeleteYour new pincushion is so lovely!
I especially love the backing fabric, such a beautiful design!!!
And I have a question, you wrote you baked your fabric, though how do you do that?
In the oven toaster???
I'm very curious, and your result make them very antique like!!
That's amazing!
Too cute! Love the backing. You're right, it's perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove you pillow:) The backing fabric is indeed perfect;)
ReplyDeleteYour Plimoth turned out beautiful! I love the backing fabric that you used. I just finished this tonight and put it on my blog too! Have a good weekend, and I am really looking forward to seeing more of your projects!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish! Love the backing fabric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish! The fabric is perfect for it too.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your latest finish turned out - the coffee staining was just the thing to set it off.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! Perfect : ) Enjoy your week-end
ReplyDeleteLove your little finish...great job!
ReplyDeleteI really love how this turned out. The toile fabric you chose makes it extra special.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pin cushion Staci! It's just beautiful!! :)

ReplyDeleteHugs,
Carolyn
Oh I love this one, it's beautiful! Your backing fabric is soooo perfect too. I'm not sure if I've visited your blog before, but I'll definitely be back, you have a beautiful blog :)
ReplyDeleteYour pincushion is so beautiful...The backing fabric is wonderful and perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteI love your primitive pyn pilow!!.
A lovely stitch Staci and the backing fabric is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou've had some wonderful finishes over the past few days. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI love your pyn pillows! What do
ReplyDeleteyou stuff yours with?? I have heard of using crushed walnut shells (not sure where to purchase!!), rice and of course the
usual pillow stuffing.
Please leave directions on the dye & bake.
Thanks, Denise
I love the way you finished your pyn pillow. The backing fabric is just perfect for the design.
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful! I love the fabric you used!
ReplyDeleteHey Staci,
ReplyDeleteStill making magic with your needle
and threads I see. And you've got
the dying and baking down pat, with
fabulous results.
I love all those amazing little
Christmas Ornaments that you've
got all ready to make into nifty
treasures for your tree. That
Heartfelt Harvey is so cute!!
And the Woodland Frosty is just
so sweet, with his twiggy arms
reaching out to give the world
a hug. The dying/baking on
the fabric really is fantastic
for this sort of primitive
design.
The "My Love For You" sampler
is so pretty, and looks just
wonderful in the frame that
you found. It's great to see
projects framed and hanging
where everyone can enjoy them
instead of languishing in a
drawer.
Cheers!
How pretty! That is so cool, and the fabric for the back is just perfect, can you send me one? LOL! Thanks for posting your projects, you totally inspire me! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteWhat can I add that everyone else hasn't already said??? LOL I absolutely adore Tanya's At Plimoth and your finish is my FAVORITE so far. It's gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of dying the back fabric, but since seeing yours and reading your blog, I am soooooo going to do this. OMG!!! Thanks for sharing your instructions and wisdom. It is well received!!! Thanks again!
