Crafting Logic

In which 2 halves do not necessarily make a whole. Because here is half a vest...

And this would be half a sweater. Yes, definitely different halves!

And gathering from the picture, I was indeed reading and knitting and drinking coffee. I wasn't talking~~I mean, a girl can only do so much, LOL!!! I can only read and knit if the knitting is simple. And the reading made each long, monotonous row zip back and forth on the needles :) Last night was "Murder of Identity" by Veronica Heley. An entertaining British cozy mystery. I'm now onto "Murder in the Park".

And I really, really think I should start a new pair of socks since I pulled out a few balls of sock yarn from the stash ;)

If you are looking for the "Lo, How a Rose" pattern by Brightneedle, it's in this book: A Cross Stitch Christmas, Celebrations in Stitches by Better Homes and Gardens. Published in 2001. ISBN 069621363-X. Abebooks.com often has copies, that's where I bought mine. And jump right in if you want to join the little Lo SAL that Vonna and I are doing~~the more, the merrier!

Thank you everyone for all of your sweet comments...it really brightens my little piece of cyberspace when you visit :) I'm very behind in my blog-reading and commenting, I hope to get caught up soon! Toodles!!!

Hi Staci,

What a talented woman you are! I can knit simple scarves but that's about it (but I cannot read a book while doing that!)

Thanks for mentioning where the "Lo How a Rose" design can be found. It looks like a lovely design to stitch.

Thanks so much for mentioning where to find the Lo How a Rose chart -- I've been wanting to find it forever! As for the knitting while reading thing -- I'm impressed!

The knitting looks so nice! I love to knit also! But I want to do too many things and short of time. I'm looking forward to the progress of your knitting.

Wow you have been busy but it also looks so relaxing too. Can't wait to see these finished. I love how knitting looks but haven't the patience for it so I crochet! LOL

Reading and knitting together... wow! :) It's amazing, and your knitting looks so nice!
I can only watch films, when I knit, but still do mistakes :)

A beautiful color for a sweater vest! I can't knit to save my life :) I can make dishrags, but that's about it.
I've had lots of people ask me about Celebration in Stitches too...got mine on Ebay.

Knitting, reading, drinking all at the very same time? I would drop stitches, lose my place and spill coffee on both the book and the knitting. You must really have mastered the art of multi-tasking!

Love that vest--you do beautiful work!

I love all your knitting projects, especially with the weather outside here being so cold right now! But how on earth do you read at the same time?

I love your pic of sock yarn stash! I am just beginning to knit, and I love it. I tried a while back, but could not get past the dishrag stage. I took a class last fall, and it was wonderful! My yarn stash is increasing...

I have "Lo, How a Rose" and I've been looking for an excuse to start it. I think I need to pull it out tonight and see if I have the threads. I do have a piece of linen for it!

Way to multi-task! I'm not much of a knitter, but I love to see your xs wip. I also actually had a dream about dying fabric, and thought "I need to go look up the tut on Snippets and Stash's blog!" I've never attempted it, and I may have been trying to dye the fabric because I was mad at dh and wanted to get rid of his coffee before he could drink it.

They might be different halves, but they are both very pretty!

I will look forward to your progress on Lo, How A Rose. I have the book, but the sampler is one of my want to stitches. Maybe this year.

OK, my brain definetly would not let me knit and read a book at the same time!! I would love to be able to knit socks and sweaters...I love both..especially socks:)
Thanks for sharing the info on Lo!

Talk about multi-tasking!! I can knit wonky scarves, that's the extent of my knitting prowess, and it takes every ounce of concentration. I'll have to look up the books you mentioned!

That's some multi tasking you have going on there. Love your half done projects. The yarn looks really soft, it must be nice to work with.

I enjoy seeing your knitting projects and it always makes me want to pull out my needles. I just need more hours in a day1 I don't think I could read and knit on the lace shawl I've been trying to finish for over two years.
Your Lo How a Rose is very lovely.

The Rose piece is looking lovely, and you know I love the knitting pics. When you find a way to knit and cross stitch at the same time, be sure and let us know! If anyone can figure out how, you can!!
