Gift knitting

I'm in a little bit of a cross stitch slump, but never fear, I have my knitting! I guess that's the good thing about having more than one hobby??? Sometimes, it's a good thing to have a spare gift or two squirreled away for those dates that sneak up on me.

A couple of generously sized cotton washcloths......they're 10 1/2 inches square and these are not for the dishes, lol! And a couple bars of heavenly-scented, 100% organic soaps from France.

These knit up pretty quickly, I mean, as far as handmade gifts go. Maybe I'll get a head start on Christmas gifts. Or birthday gifts......strangely enough, the majority of my friends have birthdays in Nov and Dec.

Wedding Washcloths freebie
by the Purl Bee found here
yarn: Sugar and Cream cotton, ecru and white
needles: size 8

This is obviously not the yarn nor needles recommended in the pattern. I have big cones of Sugar and Cream, so I just used that. I cast on 45 stitches and only did the first and last 4 rows in seed stitch (instead of 7 as the pattern is written.) I like the generous size of these, and think they're perfect for gifts.

Now, I'm off to move the laundry around and knit some more gifts. Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods!

  13. What a sweet gift set!

It is good when you have a couple of hobbies to ring the changes. I'm in a major knitting phase at the moment, although I think that's because RL friends are knitters, not stitchers.
