Winter Woolens

One of my projects from my computer-less days :) I've loved this pattern from the moment I first laid eyes on it. I've really enjoyed looking at it during the holidays...one of my few cross stitch finishes that doesn't adorn the tree, lol ;)

I filled it with poly-pellets. I wanted it to have that heavy, weighty look and feel...and I'm so pleased with it. The back is just some green/cream plaid calico I had in my stash. I was really hoping to use some nice wool on the back, but nothing from my stash matched!

  5. I was just wondering with the first picture whether the linen was 'staci-dyed' (are you going to copyright that?) and indeed it is. It looks very pretty and this piece is just gorgeous. Wish I had stitched it myself! ;-)

  11. Oh Staci,
It is beautiful and I love the fabric you have stitched it on. Does it have a very slight pink tone to it? It's got a very faint warmth which compliments both the red of the lettering and the dark chocolate of the reindeer.
Thankfully, with a birthday coming up I can begin a new wish list...haha!
There is always something pretty to look at on your blog!

  16. Love the idea of putting some "weight" to it with the pellets. I'd love to try that with some scented material, like cedar chips perhaps. Beautiful design!

  28. The pattern is gorgeous and your stitching and finishing, too. I was always wanting to buy this pattern and then I won it in Corinna's giveaway. So I'll stitch it this winter, too.
