Faced with spending the evening in the freezing cold watching a local holiday parade this past December, I did what any knitter would do. Knit some warmth...

Bella's mittens in the Twilight movie caught my eye. Even though they really only flash by in the scene. Apparently I'm not the only one. Thanks to
Sublimal Rabbit's wonderful pattern, you can see them everywhere...

They knit up fast thanks to chunky yarn. And are so warm and cozy!

Sometimes you need a big, thick scarf that really wards off the cold. I love scarves in every color of the rainbow, but nothing beats basic black for wearabilty...

Another fast knit with chunky wool and big needles. Basic garter stitch with ribbed ends.

Looks like my basic black set will be getting a workout with the arctic freeze that's hitting most of the country this week. Stay warm dearies :)

ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, these mittens look warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to see if you'd made any December Progress on your Christmas Design SAL yet. You could put that beautiful Poinsettia Ornament in as December Progress if you want. Let me know. Hugs Yoyo
I love the mitts!! Look lovely and toasty!

ReplyDeleteStaci - that is a wonderful set you knit! I'm going to have to get the pattern for those mittens. They look so warm!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous knitting Staci! The pattern on the mittens is so pretty, and they look wonderful with the scarf. I love basic black!
ReplyDeleteFantastic set Staci! You're a stitching and a knitting goddess!
ReplyDeleteI could use those warm things. Bitter cold here too. And we had heat problems for a couple of days so it was cold inside too. That's when I could have found a reason for fingerless gloves/wristwarmers!
ReplyDeleteWish I could knit things up so quickly and so beautifully!
Both the scarf and mittens are awesome. Good job!
ReplyDeletethey look warm and toasty
ReplyDeletereally like the mitten pattern
Staci,
ReplyDeleteWhat a speedy knitter you are. Seeing your Bella mitts makes me feel like whipping my knitting needles out again - now, where did I put them in 1995..haha! I loved that film and would adore some mitts like that so it may well tempt me and, apart from pink, black is my all time favourite colour.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Warm wishes Angela xx
