Patriotism, Pinball, and Pizza

I really like the way this finish turned out. I used a piece of my own gold-colored hand-dyed linen (it's just a bit darker IRL than in my photos.) And then I had to substitute DMC 780 for the stars so that they'd show up properly. The charm isn't the one called for in the pattern, I found it in my stash~~but I think it's just the bling this little piece needed :)

fabric: misc "staci-dyed" linen remnant
fibers: WDW and DMC

Here are some final pictures from our little road trip. After Ghost Town, we went to Manitou Springs where we walked the shops and then headed to Arcade Amusements, "The West's Oldest Arcade". Home to hundreds of vintage pinball machines...

Then we headed north to Woody's Woodfired Pizza and home......a delicious end to a fun-filled day!

  6. I love the addition of the flag charm, just perfect.

Ahhh pinball. I remember playing pinball at the skating rink, standing on a plastic milk crate in roller skates. I was maybe 5 and on the tiny side to boot.

  11. Love your finish, congrats. I especially love the fabric you dyed, it is just the color I need right now. Can I ask how you dyed it? I have a piece of Antique white fabric but need it to be darker for my project. I have never dyed anything. If there is a site or blog with a tutorial that you used that would be great to know. Thanks, CJ ok;-)

  13. Do you have any pictures of where you hang all of your patriotic stitching? Do you scatter them throughout your house or hang them in groupings?

  20. Hi Staci, GUESS WHAT?!? I found Liberty! LOL I wasn't even looking for it. I had picked up a stack of mail and stuff this morning, seconds before leaving for work and it fell out! I'll get it in the mail for you tomorrow or Monday at the latest.
Lovely finishes! You're going to need a bigger basket to display all your patriotic pieces!
