I really like the way this finish turned out. I used a piece of my own gold-colored hand-dyed linen (it's just a bit darker IRL than in my photos.) And then I had to substitute DMC 780 for the stars so that they'd show up properly. The charm isn't the one called for in the pattern, I found it in my stash~~but I think it's just the bling this little piece needed :)

Here are some final pictures from our little road trip. After Ghost Town, we went to
Manitou Springs where we walked the shops and then headed to
Arcade Amusements, "The West's Oldest Arcade". Home to hundreds of vintage pinball machines...
Lovely finish Staci, and I think the charm is just right.
ReplyDeleteSoubds like you all had a wonderful time on your road trip.

ReplyDeleteAhhh pinball. I remember playing pinball at the skating rink, standing on a plastic milk crate in roller skates. I was maybe 5 and on the tiny side to boot.
Lovely patriotic stitching!

Love your finish, congrats. I especially love the fabric you dyed, it is just the color I need right now. Can I ask how you dyed it? I have a piece of Antique white fabric but need it to be darker for my project. I have never dyed anything. If there is a site or blog with a tutorial that you used that would be great to know. Thanks, CJ ok;-)
ReplyDeleteAnother cute finish!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pinball machine looks so much fun!!!! I miss playing one of those!!!
Do you have any pictures of where you hang all of your patriotic stitching? Do you scatter them throughout your house or hang them in groupings?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog! I love all of your Americana projects. The family holiday looks like fun, too! I need to find a pinball machine, because it has been too long since I've played.
