A gray day full of color...

After seeing Diane's pink tea-dyed fabric and Nicole's Rit-dyed fabric, I just had to try my hand at it. I've done regular tea-dyeing before, but love how my Red Zinger tea turned the fabric a wonderful rose color (pictured 5th from bottom.) I've never used Rit before and I found it fun and easy...I'm going back for more!!!

picot edged, stockinette socks
women's medium
sz 1 dpn's
yarn: Trekking (XXL), color #134

I used Claudia's picot edging on these simple, springy, stripey socks.

And I'll leave you today with a pic of one of my mother's day goodies......this gorgeous card was made by my very talented and sweet sis. My photo just doesn't do it justice, the colors are so dainty and pretty and the entire thing sparkles delicately.

Oh......did you see that hovering at the bottom of the pic??? She (and my BIL) found me some Emma's too :) Thanks Sis, you're the best ;)

Thank Staci for posting the eBay store Floss info that I saw on Wanda's blog! I purchased some myself and am waiting on my second order.
Question on the Rit dye...Is it colorfast after you dye it? Your selection of dyed fabrics is gorgeous!

Hey little Sis...Guess our age difference really shows!!! Guess you were way tooooo young when we were tie dying all our T's with the RIT!!! Of course never thought of making such pretty sweet colors as the ones you did today...Back then the bolder, the brighter the better! Love all the pics. Glad you love your Emma's! Was a wonderful day :)
Luv ya, Big Sis

Beautiful fabrics! What colors did you use on the aida fabrics, besides the red tea? I've heard of kool-aid dying and keep thinking I'll try that some day. I used rit once before and made a tie dye type fabric of purple and white. I really liked it, something fun for halloween.
Beautiful socks!

Love it all, the socks, the fabric and the Emma scissors. I have looked for them, but cannot find them. The Joann's that I looked at, did not even look like they had a space for them on the shelf. Very envious. You had a great Mother's Day.
