Happy Monday to you dear friends.  My apologies for not commenting on your blogs lately...life has been very stressful, the sort of stress that knitting and stitching doesn't soothe and thus I've resorted to washing the walls.  Do you ever resort to stress cleaning???  Well, never mind the clean walls, let's move on to much better things!

Lynn B and I did a private exchange.  Lynn does extraordinarily gorgeous work, and mine can't hold a candle next to hers.  So I made Lynn a pair of pincushions because they're dead useful and one can never have too many ;)

My dear friend Wendy Jo is in town again (well, in Denver...thank you Rex's job!)  And we were able to get together last week.  I enjoy Wendy's company so much and we had a really great time.  She brought me the sweetest gift.  Check out those darling button magnets she made!  Thank you so much Wendy Jo for your friendship!

Patriotic Pillows

Hello friends!  I know I said in my last post that I had some new starts, which I do (and these are not them.)  I'm actually back today with some finishes!  I stitched Old Glory last year, but never got around to sewing it up.  And I started the Quaker heart last year too, but abandoned it halfway through.  And since June is the month that I normally stitch patriotic stuff, I thought it was high time to get them finish~finished  :)

It feels like winter out already. 7 inches of snow this weekend. There isn't nearly that much on the ground now and the streets are dry. The sun is shining and the skies are a cloudless blue, but it is cold!

I've stitched this before. And someday I'll stitch it for my tree. But for now, it's one more gift I am happily crossing off my list :)

Twice in one day

I went almost two weeks without posting and now I've got two in one day! Sorry to pester you guys!!! Becky let me know that she's received the ornament I stitched her for the Christmas Ornament Swap. This swap was Becky's brainchild and she is the final recipient for this year long exchange. Thank you so much Becky!!!

I really adored the ornie I sent her...it was a teensy bit hard to send it away, LOL ;) But no matter, I WILL be stitching this for myself. I'm so glad you like it Becky! This was a chart gifted to me by my sweet friend Carolyn.

Ornament for Edgar

Edgar is October's recipient for the Christmas Ornament Swap. Again, I agonized over the finishing and let it sit for a couple of weeks. I believe I've said before that I don't sew. Anything around here is hand-sewn, which I'm not very proficient at. But, luckily, I think it turned out! And even better, Edgar likes it :)

Little finishes

I finished up this little quaker freebie yesterday. It sat half done for far too long. It was going to be a biscornu originally, but in my laziness I used a tried-and-true finish ;) And because I was really lazy, I didn't stitch anything on the back either ;)

Summertime seems the perfect season for quick little projects! Although there are some big ones that are calling my name, lol! Thanks for visiting and for all of your sweet comments......I'm a little behind in my blog reading but definately plan to get caught up soon! Happy stitching!!!

Good Grief!

Just a quickie post before I head out to oldest' softball game with middle......hubby took youngest with him to the orthopedist for his 3wk check up and xrays and then on to youngest' game. So apparently May is our month for break-ups (or break-downs because I think I've earned one): first hubby, then truck, then recliner, then iron (which may seem trivial but it's sole purpose is to iron my stitching, so this is super important!), now washing machine!!! And with a family of 5 and the addition of sports uniforms that apparently need washed almost daily...yup, you get the picture. Calgon take me away......or at least come do the laundry, lol!

So, the little quaker swamp has been ripped, restitched and ironed and trotted out into the sunshine for it's photo shoot (I bet the neighbors, if they're watching, are sure I'm not quite 'all there' and frankly with the state of things I'm on the verge of agreeing with them.)

I love it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it now, which is so unlike me...I always know what I'm going to do with a project when I start it, sometimes it changes but I usually have an idea in my head. But this time, this project...nope, nada.

I mailed my 4th of July F&S off today, without a note! Good Grief! My brain is fried and I feel frazzled and exhausted. This is the time of year when I feel like the schools are giving out parent tests: forgot 0-1 items 'A', forgot 2-3 but remember to pick up children 'C', forgot 4 or more and/or children 'F'!

Thank you everyone for your input on number of threads and such, I'm glad I stitched this 2/2 because I like the better coverage...especially for a monochrome pattern.
