Keeping busy

This past weekend was our first in almost 2 months with nothing on the calendar. It was great to hang out at home :) I organized all of my cross stitch patterns and freebies, I feel better and hopefully my new system will make it easier for me to find patterns ;)

Vonna told me that Rit has custom color combos on their website, so of course I had to try it out!!! Have you tried it yet?? I tell ya, it's sooo much fun!!!

L-R: pearl grey/tan; golden yellow/cocoa; golden yellow/tan; tangerine/cocoa; golden yellow/scarlet (which turned out an apricot color that I wasn't thrilled with, so I rinsed it and then dumped the hot coffee from the pot on it. I'm still pretty iffy on the color.) These are all 22ct hardanger.

Last Friday, I checked a few Midsomer Murders dvd's from the library and stitched up these 2 little patterns while watching them over the weekend...

Heart in Hand: 4th of July Bird

fabric: 28ct remnant

fibers: WDW and DMC

~~~~~~~~~
Lizzie Kate: USA Squared
fabric: 28ct blue/white graziano
fibers: WDW and DMC
And see my 2 new pairs of scissors that came in the mail today? I ordered those little beauties from Carol and her hubby Mike...thanks for the excellent service and speedy delivery!
And in case you were worried I wasn't knitting, lol! These are a gift for a friend who I'm pretty sure doesn't read my blog, so I'm safe showing them as a WIP. I'm loving this whole combination of pattern/yarn/color!
I guess that pretty much covers everything, lol! Thanks for stopping by and visiting me and my little 'ol blog ;)
Wow Staci! Look at all those organized charts!!
I am completely infatuated with your Lizzie Kate design on the blue and white graziano! It's fantastic! And your little bird is darling, too!
OK, I'm impressed. With everything so organized, you'll find exactly what you need in no time! (I was organized for a nanosecond once, but I fell behind in updating my list of patterns, so now I need to start over to see what I've missed. [sigh])
Cute patriotic designs. Isn't it great to stitch seasonal items during the right season?
Okay Miss Organized! ;) I LOVE your patriotic stitching (haven't seen either of those patterns before - cute!), and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your dyed fabric. I will be buying some rit dye tomorrow. I just have to try it (not that I don't already have colored fabric, but hey.....a girl can never have too much purdy fabric, righto??? GREAT job on the stitching and the dying and thanks for sharing!
Hugs,
Carolyn :)
Wow, you sure have some pretty fabrics there. Very nice job. Your two patriotic pieces are lovely and that blue check fabric is gorgeous. Now, when you have a spare month or two would you like to come and organize my stash LOL.
I love what you have done and only wish I could manage that.
OK, you can come organize my patterns anytime you want to! :-)
Cute patriotic designs...I just "adopted" the little bird one from a blogger who was offering them up for new homes, and I sent the Lizzie Kate one in my Fair and Square July 4th exchange.
Staci,
I love all your dyed fabrics! Joan and I tried this for the first time on Monday. We did just a couple, but it is so much fun. I am anxious to do more. Love you new scissors too, they are peacocks!
Take care, Jill
Your patriotic stitching is SO great! I love it! And your organization is both inspiring and intimidating... ;) Great job with the dying. I'm still trying my hand with the "organic" dye sources (beets, beans, etc.).
I love Midsomer Murders! We are so bummed that they aren't carried here in the states anymore.
What do you store your patterns in? I like how it looks.
I have been just RIT-Crazy these past few days. I need to go out and buy some more packages of dye and then check out their website. Thanks for the info. Your work looks great!
Hi Staci,
Are you available to come over and go through my charts and stuff and organize it as nicely as you've done your own stash??? Wow. That's so impressive. Good for you.
Your dying experiments continue to be resounding successes, and fun to see. That Apricot one is actually kinda pretty, and might suit something like a Lizzie Kate type design someday.
Your little squares stitched during your DVD marathon are lovely. I especially like the ...er...pooping bird? Those guys are so funny!
Cheers.
Nice organizing! Let us know how it works for you :) and I love your finishes! I need that Lizzie Kate :) I've done alol the "pooping" birds, aren't they fun!
Ohhhh love those scissors! I have to check our their website again, I keep missing them.
Wow Staci you are soooo organised! I just know your stash is going to be as yummy as your beautiful stitching, can I come play with it please....
Midsomers Murders is still showing here, John Nettles is still cute for an old man...lol!
You are so organised! Care to come round and organise my patterns too?
Love your 4th July bird - he's so cute
Lovely socks. I have had to give up knitting as my hands are so painful for days afterwards but I am so tempted to try some socks after seeing them on blogs but it would then mean no stitching for a while.
I need to get some organizing done as well, it looks great. I love the Heart in Hand bird that you stitched, everything you do looks so wonderful!
I started organizing mine the other day. I am using the hanging file, carrying hard case system. I am also using sheet protectors for my precious oops.It sure is a job, but feels so good. The fabby colours are wonderful I will have to try that rit. It's so hard to determine the color when you buy it on line, this way you can get the right color you want.
PLEASE come visit me and organize my stash? lol
I love your dyed fabrics! I rather like the apricot...
Staci, You are such an inspiration: organizing, knitting, and dyeing - oh my! I had not seen the blue and white check graziano before, and I love how the Lizzie Kate design looks on it. As for the latest dye projects - the apricot is my favorite!
Kathy said...
Good job, miss organzed one. Did you do them by designer or title alphabetically. I have part of mine done by category. Always looking for a better way. Also have the charts that I have stitched in a separate file.
Love the dyed fabric. Maybe you should go into the dyed fabric business.
Love you finishes. You sure are able to get a lot done.
