I spy with my little eye...

In my previous post, Julie wanted to know what was hanging above my bed. Samplers I stitched last summer using DMC 115 on 14ct white aida, and finished into hanging pinkeeps. (The ribbon hangers can be easily removed because they are only pinned on at the side tops.)

I adore the eyecatching and classic look of red and white stitchery and DMC 115 is absolutely one of my favorite threads!

These are rather large for pinkeeps, 7" square! But I think they look perfect hanging from the pegs on my shelf :)

I know this trio was published as a set in an older American cross stitch magazine, I just can't find it. Does it look familiar to anyone? I looked through all of mine (yes, all 20+ yrs worth!) I admit that I don't keep track of project info after I've finished something. This blog is helping me to keep track ;)

Thank you to Kim (no blog) and Annemarie for their help with the AMAP 'a et alphabet suite' freebie that you can find here. Barbie, the AMAP stitcher hornbook freebie is linked underneath the pinkeep pic in red ;)

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments. Each one brightens my day like a ray of sunshine :)

These samplers are so sweet! I don´t know where to find these designs, but I do know there are some French books out there that are relatively new, and they feature similar designs. Small samplers in red. I´ll see if I can find the titles anywhere. They´re great too!

I love the red and white together along with the checkered backing AND DMC 115 too! I have a lot of old magazines but I don't think I ever had anything in redwork otherwise I would have been stitching that a long time ago. :)

Hi Staci,

Wow. You've done a wonderful job of decorating in your bedroom. These small red samplers are beautiful and you've chosen such a wonderfully unique way of displaying them. And this also allows you to change the display whenever you wish which is a nice bonus.

I've also decorated my bedroom with red accents and pale yellow walls and love the combination of the two colours. Your bed looks so cheerful and inviting. The pillowcases are lovely. What a wonderful find the rose ones were, and the ones you stitched yourself are so pretty.

Love the pinkeep that you made for Margaret for the Hooked on Exchanging exchange. Don't often see stitching done in all black thread and this piece looks fantastic done this way. Very pretty and something that Margaret will treasure I'm sure.

I do love visiting your blog Staci. I always see many things that make me smile.

Cheers

Staci,

What a pretty trio of designs. I love DMC 115 as well. There is just something about it on white fabric that just catches my eyes and won't let them go.

I hope you have a great week.

Staci, these are amazing! I had been thinking on how to finish my LHN flower sampler pictures without having to frame them (too expensive). This will be perfect. I also love the red on white and will have to see if I can find out what issue these samplers are from. I would love to stitch them!

I love these! I don't think they're too big at all. Question, if you don't mind... how many threads did you use? The coverage looks great. Love, Love, LOVE the backing fabric! Thanks for sharing!

What a great idea! You give me all of these cool ideas and I don’t have enough hours in the day to do them all LOL! They are adorable hanging over your bed. And the ribbon you used on them is perfect. I have the hardest time decorating, I am so eclectic and can’t ever get everything to match and look right…

A Brilliant idea to stitch the Trio and decorate the bedroom with them, they look stunning!

Love your little samplers. Very nice idea. I now remember seeing something in your previous picture, but I am glad someone asked the question. Great job.

Those are really pretty! I'm trying to get into cross-stitching, have any tips for me? I used to as a child but that's been a long time ago!

I have not read all the comments, so this may have already been mentioned. The three miniature patterns are from the The Needleworker magazine, August/September 1999 issue. The front cover has a Christmas stocking on it.

Love the idea about displaying them above the bed!!
