Ornament stitching

I've had the urge to stitch ornaments for a while, and this past week I did just that! I didn't have the suggested WDW for the sheep, so I took a skein of Ecru DMC and spot-dyed it with coffee. I'm so pleased with the way it turned out, that I may substitute it for all of those white/cream colored hand-dyeds :)

fabric: "staci-dyed" linen remnant (32ct?)

fibers: DMC

And somehow, Hubby's latest ornament snuck in with mine, LOL ;)

fiber: DMC, my own substitutions

Thank you for stopping by and for all of your sweet comments! Have a Holly Jolly week!!!

They're beautiful! How clever you were to hand-dye some fibers of your own! That's very resourceful!

It never would have occurred to me to dye the threads with coffee. I really have to learn out to think inside the coffee cup!

soooo how did you spot dye your floss?? Love the finish! and I love DH's finish too! I think his stitching should sneek in more and more :)

Great spot dyed floss Staci and lovely hand-dyed fabric too! Really sweet ornament.

Love the Heart of Christmas - does DH do his own finishing?

Considering how UNvariable some hand-dyed thread is becoming, I think dying your own is the way to go. I love the look of the sheep (and I LOVE sheep). I also love the Heart of Christmas design. I love how the single thread is wrapped around the border. The whole thing looks great.

Ok my sweet little Sis...

You look wonderful in all your pretties! Love the pumpkin color. Looks great...mom will probably try to nab those from ya!

And love...love...love the ornies!
You and your wonderfully sweet hubby have been very busy! Looks like Santa will be very good this year!?!?! Those are for us right???? Well can't hurt for wishing :) Love the hearts and I think I did see the word family??? And love the face on the Santa, Big D does do such a wonder job on all his carvings. Finish is perfect as always! Ooooo and loved the perfect pair....PEAR! Ha :)

I know we have been very blessed with our wonderful tree pretties from you two...and always have lots...make sure you read that right! Lots & lots of room on our tree for more!!!

I was reading some of your commments...we wont tell them that I got a whole package wrapped so pretty of your dishclothes! I still love the way Mom hasn't opened her pack yet...you can't pick such pretty colors and wrap them up cute...and expect anyone to want to tear into them! But soon she'll have to...out of need! Ha :)

Keep up the WONDERFUL work! It's wonderful you're sharing all your talent...It almost made me want to knit!!! Ha... Did I just say that????
