CADD

Crafter's Attention Deficit Disorder. Guilty as charged. Youngest asked for a "sock" for his MP3 player. And I was only too happy to oblige. And while I was at it, I forced one on knit one for Middle too. This is one of those projects that is not cool enough for a 14yr old :(

I knit buttonholes into the back so that they can hook these to...whatever.

These only take a little bit of sock yarn. I cast 40 stitches onto size 2 dpn's and knit in k2p2 rib. And then did a 3-needle bind-off when they were about 1/2 inch longer then the MP3.

These are the socks I've been knitting on sporadically: a plain sock with a slip stitch heel and a feather and fan sock with a plain heel. What I really want to do is cast on and knit two socks AT THE SAME TIME...one inside the other. I had heard about this several years ago and found an online tutorial, but never tried it. Now it's in the Jan/Feb issue of Piecework.

Instead, I cast on another scarf. I've always loved the twisted rib stitch on that gray sweater I knit for Middle a few years ago. So deceptively simple!

I'm not going to mention the sweaters in varying stages. And we won't mention cross stitch wip's either. CADD. I'm a card-carrying member. Maybe I'll knit myself a badge ;)

Oh, I need one of those membership cards too... except I hope there aren't any "dues" for the club, except all the stitching and knitting stuff in my stash, of course! I love the sweater you showed, and the scarf you are now working on!

I love the pattern on the scarf. Looks simple enough to do. Care to share?

The ipod cover looks cute! I'm sorry its not cool enough for your 14yo. I'm glad I'm in my 20s and knitting for my dad who doesn't care about these things.

CADD ... I'm so there! You've finally shown something I may have the knitting skills to manage: ipod pockets. It'd be a way to practice, right? You're too clever.

You are just too funny! I love all your "socks". I know what you mean though, my oldest who's almost 13-he wouldn't appreciate a sock for his ipod either. DD would-she's 10 and loves that stuff! Boy, your knitting puts mine to shame. I love your ribbed scarf and those socks. I just usually do the garter stitch on my scarves. I like yours better! Oh, and i have the CADD too. Dh is always on my case since I can't just sit and watch a movie on Saturday night-I always gotta be stitching or knitting! so then he thinks i don't pay attention to the movie-which drives him nuts!

CADD ~ that explains it! A friend recently mentioned that she thought I had crafters ADD but she must not have realized there was an official title.

Love all your projects! One at a time is just tooo boring!

Smiles,
Lea

What an amazing and funny idea with socks for mp3 players! They look great :)
It's very interesting to hear about knitting two socks at the same time... I read about that in "War and Peace" (L. Tolstoy), but I always thought that it's invention of author... :D

Very nice work. The MP3 cozies look cool to me. I actually discovered that a couple of the x-stitch luggage tags that I gave as holiday gifts are being used to house ipods now, although not by 14 yr olds!

Gorgeous socks and scarf! How in the world would you knit two socks at once?

I think you need to start a CADD club--I'd definitely be a member:-)

I never could get the hang of two socks at a time on a circular but I do cast on both socks on two seperate sets of double points and alternate back and forth; that seems to work for me.

LOL! It's called "multi-tasking" sweetie! I have to say again that your knitting is to die for. That gray sweater is right up my alley and I'm pining for those beautiful socks! They are just great!

Staci, you almost make me want to learn to knit - almost. lol! I really must limit the number of hobbies. :) Perhaps my daughter can take it up and knit me something beautiful like your scarves, socks, etc.
