Knitting for the Criminally Insane

Happy Monday dear friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter.  Here are the anklets I've been waiting to photograph.  Spring break was the perfect time since my foot model was handy (socks photograph SO much better actually on a foot.)  Never mind that she cobbed onto these!

56 stitch anklets (knit 1 inch in 2x2 rib and then begin heel)
women's size sm/med
yarn:  Berroco Sox, color #1425
(leftovers from this pair)
needles:  size 2 dpn's

And another pair done in a simple 3x1 rib.  I really liked watching the stripes unfold, and there's a bit of purple mixed in some of the black sections :)

56st basic sock done in 3x1 rib
women's size sm/med
yarn:  Heart & Sole by Red Heart, color #3972 Blackjack
2 skeins: 50g/213yds
needles:  size 2 dpn's

At the risk of my perfectly normal and responsible reputation, the next picture is what today's title is all about...

Let it be known that this is not typical sock knitting behavior for me.  The majority of the time I am a one-pair-at-a-time knitter.  Sometimes two.  Rather infrequently, I've been known to have 3 pairs on the needles.  But FIVE?!?  Why that's just crazy, even for me!  Or maybe the crazy part is the one-at-a-time notion, lol ;)

Much as I'd like to make some progress on my sock-love-obsession...I've resigned myself to deep-cleaning the kitchen today, ugh!

Hope your week is off to a fantastic start!  Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods!!!

Love those little tennis shoe anklets. Those look like fun to knit... quicker anyway than regular socks.

Wonderful socks! I think it's more normal to have a few pairs going, lol! Just think, whenever you need a quicker sock finish, you can just grab up one of these and git 'er done =)

I just love hand knitted socks! However do you dare wear them? So much time involved!
I love the pair on your foot model! So cute. I guess 5 must be the magic crazy number. I have 5 sewing projects sitting out at the moment! LOL.
Take Care.

Ooooooooooo...I LOVE those grey/brown/black socks. They are gorgeous.

I went to the frog-pond this afternoon. Hoping I'll have some time this afternoon to sit down and start all over again.

Have fun in the kitchen.

I've been using up some smaller skeins on anklets lately too. The Deborah Norville skeins run a bit light on yardage so they become anklets right away. I made a pair of socks for myself out of Red Heart "Black Jack". I just love the color combination. I see you also make socks on round needles. My mother gave me a booklet on how to do it , but I am completely stumped. I'll stick to my double points for now.

Just like looking through a sock catalogue :)
All are lovely! Sorry she "cobbed" on to them...but I understand....lots of good stuff of mine is cobbed on to here by some little preteen.

Oh, this is my kind of post! Socks, socks, socks. I'm still sock-obsessed, but I'm holding off trying them until I finish a few things. It ain't easy being the Sock Monster.

There is nothing better on your feet than a pair of hand knit socks! Yours are beautiful. I've never knit with self striping yarn. Must find some!

I think the flawed thinking is that you'd only have one pair of socks going at a time. Five looks normal...wait, maybe 8 is normal?! I'm sure you have 3 more patterns you've been dying to knit up!

I just love the colors in the first pair of socks. And the other five pair? Well, not being a knitter I can't relate but as a stitcher I can and I always have 4 to 6 projects going. :)

Thank you for your comment on my blog.
