Taupe Lace Spa Cloth

by Staci~~snippetsandstash.blogspot.com

(ETA:  I've just realized the washcloth is pictured upside-down!  I hope this hasn't caused too much confusion!!!)

Materials:

~1  50g/155yd skein sportweight cotton yarn
~size 5 needles (or needles that give you a fabric you like, gauge not a big deal)
~2 stitch markers (optional)

Measurements:  approx 10inches square after blocking

Pattern:

Cast on 56 stitches.  Knit 4 rows in garter stitch.

Row 1 (RS):  Knit 3 stitches and place marker.  Begin pattern;  *YO, k3, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k3, YO, k1*, repeat * 4 more times.  Place marker, knit last 3 stitches.  (Knit first 3 and last 3 stitches on every row.)

Row 2 (WS) and all WS rows:  Knit first 3 and last 3 stitches, purl all remaining stitches.

Row 3 (RS):  Knit 3.  *K1, YO, k2, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2, YO, k2*, repeat * 4 more times.  Knit 3.

Row 5 (RS):  Knit 3.  *K2, YO, k1, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k1, YO, k3*, repeat * 4 more times.  Knit 3.

Row 7 (RS):  Knit 3.  *K3, YO, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, YO, k4*, repeat * 4 more times.  Knit 3

Row 8 (WS):  Knit first and last 3 stitches, purl all remaining stitches.

Work rows 1-8 seven times.  Work rows 1-7 once.  Knit 4 rows in garter stitch and bind off.

Dampen and block to approximately 10 inches square.  Let washcloth dry completely before removing pins.

Beautifully stitched and blocked. Lays perfectly even without any silk in the yarn!

Whoops! Hit the enter before I meant too ;)
And I meant to put in there...that if I didn't have two left hands, I'd want me some of those beautiful cloths :)
