TGIF!

Happy Friday everyone! It feels like I've won the lottery since the surprise envelopes outnumber the bills :) AmySC stitched up this cute Blackbird Designs stocking......it's absolutely perfect because I love BBD (and we all know how I feel about attempting a stocking finish!) Thank you so much Amy, my tree is going to be so well-dressed this year!!!

Here's one of the projects I've been sporadically stitching. I find embroidery to be a nice change of pace from x-stitch......it's great to stitch without a chart ;)

I've had quite a few questions about where to find the colored rings. The package on the left can be found at Wal-mart (with the office supplies.) The package on the right is from Office Depot (Target sells some exactly like these too.) Neither Office Max nor Staples stock the colored rings on a regular basis...I guess they sometimes carry them as a seasonal item. I've never seen colored rings at any of the craft stores around here (ie. Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joann's, Hancock's Fabrics.)

The charms I find anywhere that has a beading/jewelry section. The star charm is from Hobby Lobby. And the star eyelets are from Michaels; they carry a wide variety of novelty eyelets with the scrapbooking supplies.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments on my header. I have absolutely no idea how to do it......my clever and creative sister does it and then emails it to me and all I have to do is load it. I am completely inept at techno-stuff like that!
Hope I haven't missed anyone's questions~~if I have, leave it here in the comments and I'll try to get to it :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Gorgeous embroidery, Staci!

I've seen those rings on quite a few blogs and they look quite handy. Not sure if I'd find thems here but I must remember to have a look when we are in Ireland/Scotland/UK in a couple of weeks.

Oh..... I need to catch up with your blog... soooooo many gorgeous pieces!!! I have a curious question also about your embroidered pillow cases and such... do you use high temperature when you wash them (like for usual bed clothes you use at home) or do you treat them as decorative only? I find that for white to stay white, it needs high temperatures... but what happens to the colored threads, don't they get worn out after some time? I always think of that when seeing vintage pieces and that's what's holding me off from embroidering house items... :)

Love the stocking that AmySC stitched! Isn't it nice to stitch without a chart, Staci. That's why I think I'll give embroidery a try. If I can ever put down my camera! lol Your pillows are beautiful! :)

Staci, there is always so much beauty to see and behold and wonder at the marvelousness of it all at your blog! I'm sorry I don't come by and comment every day. I just love your embroidered pillowcases. Amy's stocking is lovely, too, what a nice treat. And thanks for the info on the floss rings; I have yet to try those but hope to in the future.

Love the stocking Staci! And thanks for the sources for the colored rings - wouldn't you know I checked both Staples and OfficeMax for them this week and of course couldn't find them. I'll be off to Walmart this weekend!

I love your red embroidery but like Anna am wondering how you launder them - does the red run?

Love your embroidered pillowcases. Where do you find them? Do you buy plain white pillowcases and stitch your own pattern on them or do they come pre-printed? I bought some myself at a local antique show a few weeks ago but now I want to buy more. where do you get yours? thanks!

The little stocking is adorable.
What a sweet little gift.
Your embroidery is absolutely beautiful. I'm getting into embroidery a lot more these days and love it.
I agree it's a real treat to be able to stitch without looking at a chart.
I hope to see more of this project soon.

What a beautiful ornament to receive!

Thanks for the tips on the rings, I'm going to the states for a few days in a week and was hoping to look for some.

You are receiving some really nice ornaments. Your tree will be special this year.

Your pillowcases look perfect.

I got the rings at Wal-Mart like you told me, but had never seen them anywhere else. Love them. Going to give them as gifts to my stitching friends. They tried to take the ones that you sent me.

Thx for sharing. I have not found the rings (yet). I will try wal-mart & office depot. Seems where I am looking, they are not available.

This is something I would like to try. I did get the thing [looks like pliers] to put in the metal round things -- LOL my mind is lost & i cannot remember what they are called.
