Hoist Your Colors!

It's that time of year folks......that time when I abandon everything for some patriotic stitching :) And what a fun little stitch this was...

fabric: 32ct raw linen

fibers: my own selection

We took a short road trip this past weekend, and our first stop was the Olympic Training Complex in Colorado Springs. It's one of 3 training facilities; the others are in Lake Placid, NY and California.

I took a bunch of photos, and it's always difficult to choose just a few. If you have a chance, stop by and take the free tour :) It makes you proud to be an American and appreciate the dedication it takes to be an Olympic Athlete.

I've driven through Colorado Springs twice and I didn't know it was open for tours! It just didn't cross my mind. I would like to see the skating rink. Next time we will try to stop.

Love the sloop!

Cute little patriotic stitching you've got there! I am the same way as you Staci, I feel compelled to ditch everything else and stitch something with flags or red white and blue! It's really my favorite type of stitching ;-)

I love your patriotic stitch! There is something so appealing about patriotic designs in the hot summer. I'll have to get myself in gear next year to stitch some.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your road trip. Sounds fun!

Cute stitch...now let us know how you plan to finish it? Will it be an ornament, pillow, door hanger, tin topper? I am sure you have something fun in mind. Colors are super and make me want to get them out of my stash. pj
