Strings 'n Things

Hello dear friends! It seems like I've fallen off the blog-o-spere, but truly I haven't. Life continues to be busy and hectic (is it ever any other way???) Especially now that Middle has started flag football. Oldest continues to keep us all busy with her softball and band schedule. And Youngest is doing karate again this year. And with Hubby taking furlough days from work, he's around much more and that usually throws my "routine" out the window.

I'm still furiously knitting away :) Youngest observed that I "never cross stitch anymore" to which Middle replied that I am "getting ready for winter." Truer words have never been spoken, lol!

Ribbon Tied Cardigan, size small

Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine, fall/winter 2008

Yarn: unknown dk weight merino from the stash, color Licorice

Needles: Size 5 and 6 circular

Shell button from my button jar; sewn with the reverse side facing

back detail

Hey, this pic didn't turn out too terribly considering I did it myself ;)

And of course I celebrated that finish by casting on a new sweater right away. This one is just flying off the needles...that's the advantage of big needles! The yarn is a really yummy alpaca blend in a lovely fall shade of green...

Well dear friends, that pretty much sums up life around here: it's full of homework and the kids' activites, and knitting. And some very fine weather (if you don't count the really chilly, wet Saturday we spent at the ballfields, lol.)

Thank you for visiting me and for all of your wonderful comments on my previous knitting.

Toodles till next time!!!

Gorgeous cardigan! If my knitting turned out as well as yours, I'd probably abandon x-stitch too!

Gorgeous cardi Staci - shame you made it too small to fit me! I think I may try knitting again now my hands are fully recovered!

Hi Staci,
Your knitting is beautiful! I'm an amateur knitter. I used to do a lot when i was a lot younger :-) because my mom was an avid stitcher. But, I have gotten away from it. I would like to convert a baby afghan project into a regular sized afghan. Is that possible? Would you contact me at mtjacobi@chorus.net and let me ask you a few more questions about it?
Thank you! Teri Jacobi

It's always nice to see a post from you whether it's about cross stitch or knitting, or anything for that matter! The cardigan is so pretty. Enjoy nesting for winter!

Gorgeous knitting! I wish I could finish the sweater I am half way through for Elijah! I stupidly chose the most complicated zigzag pattern for him. He'll be grown out of it before I finish it. x
