Crochet and Q&A

Happy Friday Dear Friends!  I finished this crochet throw yesterday...and couldn't be bothered to block it because everyone wanted to try it out right away :)

It's quite warm and cozy and lightweight too.  And I'm so happy it's finished...I think I've mentioned before that blankets around here are all about the finished product.  It's just rows of single and double crochet (trying to mimic old-fashioned ticking fabric), using Wool Ease in Natural Heather and Blue Heather and a size I hook.

And now to answer a few questions :)  My helper in the previous post is Dobby.  He's a 5 yr old Australian Cattle Dog (blue heeler), a little small for his breed but perfectly proportioned.  And he's as devoted and loveable as they come.

And all those little "hot" tags?  They were sewn into these:

Wool Coffee Cup Cozies.  Instead of those cardboard sleeves.  Hubby and I did our very first craft show earlier this month and these were one of the items I made.  Add a gift card to a favorite coffee house, and it makes the perfect little gift.  I've put a few in the Shop.

I still have more finishes, but I'll share them another day.  For now, I need to tackle my google reader.  Have a fantastic weekend everyone and a Fun and Safe Halloween!!!

AWESOME! Love the coffee cup holders. I hate those little cardboard thingies that are:

1. wasteful
2. ineffective (my hands still get burnt)
3. always falling off anyway

And the throw is quite lovely. Looks like something that's going to be a part of your family's life for a long time.

ya know, I bet those knitted sleeves could be marked to Starbucks!

Do you take custom orders??

Looks like a very comfy throw. I'm a fan of Wool-eze.

Cute cozies too. Great idea for a craft fair.

Great throw! We're all about snuggling under a nice blanket here. My daughter and I were laughing at just how much we enjoy hunkering down and vegging.

I love the idea for the cozies! I like the thought of the gift cert and a cozy as a gift. What a fabulous idea! I might have to mention that to Santa for my rugrats.

The throw is gorgeous, you are very talented. The hot tags are a brilliant idea, much better than the cardboard version I'm sure. Can't wait to see your finishes :)

What a pretty little throw. It reminds me of something you would find in a farmhouse.

I'll take one of those throws in some combination of black/beige/red. I've been looking for a throw for the living room but everything seems to be made of faux fur! I like yours!

Hi Staci,

What a pretty throw you've made.
I love the colors in it and the
picture tickled my memory because
I'd seen something like this
before. Oh yes. Blue ticking.
That's what it reminded me of.
I guess that it won't be long
before cozy, warm blankets will
be in great demand.

The wool coffee cozies are a
great idea and the little "hot"
tags attached to them are a
great idea. Better then using
and throwing out those paper
sleeves. And this would
probably work better then paper
to keep the coffee hot.

It was nice to meet Dobby. He
looked like a sweetheart.

Can't wait to see what else
you've been up to.

Cheers!

As an inveterate coffee drinker I think it's a marvelous idea. The little hot tag is the perfect finishing touch. What else did you make for the craft show? The blanket is awesome - I wish I could snuggle up in it right now@

I just love the throw that you made. Makes me feel like curling up with a book and some hot chocolate.

I visited your shop and you have some wonderful stuff in there. I loved you stitch markers. They are so pretty. Don't worry about your mojo - I think it happens to the best of us. It will come back in time. Take care.
