Yankee Doodle Went to Town...

I certainly wasn't riding a pony but I sure do feel dandy! I finished up my first ever over 1 stitching. I love the way it looks, but not sure how much of it I'll be doing :) Another first is the round pinkeep shape.

After Oldest's xray, I ran into a Joann's that was conveniently close to the Dr's office and scored myself some 30% off Freedom courtesy of Gingher :) And then after Hubby's ortho visit, we ran into Michael's (quite close to his Dr's) and I found a little Uncle Sam. Then checked out Ross next door and found the Hershey Tins! There were only 2, and one was missing it's chocolate so the manager marked it down to $1! (the stars are just a few from my rather large collection and it's all sitting on my $3 garage sale chair, lol!)

So the silver lining to all the recent Dr visits is STASH, lol!!!

Woot, nice tins & scissors, too :)

Wow! Your first experiences are a great success! Designs stitched one over one always look fabulous, you might get addicted to o/o stitching very soon.

I'm totally loving your doctor/stash visits :) Well done on your round pinkeep, it looks gorgeous! Over 1 is beautiful to look at, but, um, difficult to do (or maybe that's just me and my finger-dobbed glasses, ha ha!). I find I have to concentrate on my stitching totally (normally I'm also listening to something or watching telly) and need to take my glasses off, and have the most powerful light in the house trained on my stitching. Is it worth it??? :)

Very patriotic entry today and fun to look at. A round pinkeep is an interesting idea and yours came out so good. I may have to give that a try, but definitely not on over-1! I'll leave that for the ladies with good eyesight.

Love the little pinkeep. Over 1 is not my favorite either. Been doing a little, but rather do other stuff.

You ended up with quite a stash. I have the "Freedom" scissors too. I love them. They cut my silk very nicely. Was out today looking for the "emma" ones. They are purply lavender. Just my color. could not find them.

*thud*!! I AM SO glad I clicked on your blog link! I saw it in Daffycat's blog post about her yummy salsa, and I decided to be nosey and click on yours!

That pinkeep is AMAZIngggggg. I haven't seen a round one before, and I really like that! I have not done any as of yet, but I plan to eventually get gutsy enough to try. Yours is just lovely, and your stitching is top-notch. Thank you for sharing!

This Blackbird Design picture looks just gorgeous. First I thought, huh, a Blackbird Design that I don't know? But of course I know it, it just looks so very special over one. I'd be glad if I liked stitching over one better.
Great job, Staci!

What a gorgeous patriotic display! Isn't it great when things all come together like that...so rare in Life. I love the stitching over-one. I haven't dared to try it yet.

staci: In response to your comment, it is possible these might be at other bead &/or craft stores. I haven't been to JoAnn's or Michael's lately. I thought they were pretty & at 50% off, a bargain compared to other thread winders available.

staci has left a new comment on your post "Q & A":

Adorable needlebooks :) And love your clever idea for the thread winders...I may have to search out hobby lobby!
