Because I like to post with pics, here are some of Hubby's handwork: woodcarving. Now where I must follow a pattern using someone else's ideas, Hubby lets "the wood speak to him". Uhhh, yeah......the only thing wood ever says to me is it wants to go into the fireplace :)
A face mask he carved out of a piece of 2x6 pine. He generously donated this piece to the annual PTO silent auction held every spring at the boys' school. Isn't he talented??? He doesn't see himself as talented...but he really is a natural-born artist. I mean honestly, only an artist can create a thing of beauty out of a plain piece of lumber.

Whoa - your dh is amazingly talented! I, for one, am very impressed! :)
He is incredibly talented that mask is awesome I Love it, its wonderful
Oh WOW, that is just amazing, what a truly talented man your hubby is. It reminds me of an old man goblin or fairy folk man, and people that know me well know that I love my goblins especially ones that look true and real and not too comical looking.
I wish my hubby was that talented with a piece of wood, like you said he would just put it on the fire. (Men have a fascination with fire, dont you think!!) hmm
WOW, DH carving is outstanding. He is definitely an artist. And an extremely talented one at that.
That mask is incredibly cool. Can he do mini-faces for little dolls? Those are my latest passion.
OMG Staci! Everyone in your family is talented!! lol
Amazing work your husband did there! And to donate it to the PTO, good man. I was President of our PTO at my daughter's school for a couple of years so I know how this will be very much appreciated! We used to have silent actions also, I'm sure this will bring a pretty penny for the school!
You know, with the talent that runs in your family, you should open up your own business selling your crafts, I'm sure it would be wildly successful! :D
Wow, that is fantastic. He definitely is a an artist. Does he do this type of work often or is it an occassional hobby? I would love to see more of his work.
Staci that is just stunning. I showed it to the stitching ladies who are here for the weekend and they all agreed that it is unique and so special
Staci that is beautiful! How long did it take him to do that? Very nice work...he should be proud of himself
Your husband's talent is amazing! I really don't know how anyone can do something like this just looking at a piece of lumber. There is so much expression in this mask. Wow!
Hee hee, that's something completely different, but what a talent!! Pretty amazing!!
A complete artist & talented to boot : ) Enjoy the week-end
WOW. If he ever decides to start making pieces to sell - don't forget to tell me!
Staci, I had to call DH from outside to look at these pics. Tell your DH he is very talented. Now my DH wants to go out and start playing with his wood working stuff...men, I tell ya! Keep on stitching and smiling.

He is absolutely artistically talented! I'd love to see more pictures of things he's made :)
You and your husband are very talented! Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog!
If that's what he does with "no" talent at all, we'd probably be stunned speechless if he "had" talent!! You tell him that is amazing work!!
Wow! very unique piece of work.
Btw, you've been named, come visit me to find out :)
That is amazing, amazing work...and you husband is more than talent, I'd say that is a God given gift....my heavens, the emotion, the wrinkle lines around the eyes, and nose and mouth...that is a GIFT! Gorgoeusly done!

OH MY that is amazing!! If your DH is thinking that he's not talented he is sooooo Wrong. That is Gooood.
Hi
Loved your blog!
Working wood like that surely means that your husband is a really talented craftsman.
I'm going to ad you to my links list, hope you don't mind.
Last year I also made some ornaments to my Christmas tree. Now, that I saw some of the Prairie Schooler designs I want to do some more.
Will be back once in a while!
oh I just love this face! what a talent your DH has. Hope we get to see more pictures :) I'm sure the PTO appreciated it! I know I would have when I ran auctions for schools.
Beautiful! He should enter it in one of the fairs.
You need to show all of these comments to your DH. Maybe then he'll be convinced that he has talent. It is wonderful!
That is beautiful, I absolutely love it!
How cool!!
How talented!!
That is really really beautiful.
That mask looks amazing! What detail.
This is amazing work !!!! Just fantastic !!!

Wow! he is very talented, often people with great talents do not realise how good their work is.
To draw a face like that would be talented, to carve it out of a piece of wood is beyond that.
Are you going to show more of his work. I for one would love to see some.
Oh my!!! I am so very sorry that I'm so late in posting a comment on this post. I'm in awe of the talent that your DH possesses. His woodcarving is AWESOME!!! I'm just gobsmacked. I will definitely have to show my DH tomorrow. He will be so impressed. :)
Hugs,
Carolyn :)
